Infopark Kochi’s maiden ‘i by Infopark’ facility—a flexible, premium co-working space—will be commissioned at the Ernakulam South metro station building shortly.
The facility, with a built-up area of over 48,000 sq. ft., will be spread across floors 3 to 9 of the metro station building. It will have a floor area of 6,530 sq. ft. and is expected to generate employment for over 500 professionals. The goal is to position Infopark as the premier choice for businesses seeking a dynamic, supportive, and strategically located workspace solution in Kochi, with a unique emphasis on inclusive and neurodiversity-friendly design.
“The ‘i by Infopark’ at the south metro station was taken up as a pilot project to assess whether such a premium co-working space offered by Infopark would have acceptance. The response has been overwhelming, and we are in the final stages of discussions with potential clients,” said Infopark CEO Susanth Kurunthil.
The facility has been decked up by adopting a neurodiversity and inclusive design, supporting individuals with conditions such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and Tourette syndrome, among others. Besides, each floor has been designed with a specific sensory focus.
The third floor has been designed with a focus on ‘sight,’ featuring approved wallpapers, vitrified tiles, lacquered glass, acoustic panels, and specific carpet choices. ‘Taste’ is the theme of the fourth floor, following inclusive practices around food and dietary preferences. ‘Smell,’ with pastel lavender aromas introduced through subtle diffusers to promote relaxation and well-being, dominates the fifth floor. The sixth floor focuses on ‘touch,’ with warm pastel yellow tones and soft textures. ‘Hearing’ is the sensory focus of the remaining three floors, which are designed with pastel green tones associated with nature and incorporate biophilic soundscapes and acoustic panels.
The facility at the south metro station building offers a slew of location-specific advantages as well. It offers superior connectivity by way of a multi-modal transit hub, thanks to its proximity to the Ernakulam South Railway Station, NH 66, and the Ernakulam KSRTC Bus Stand—not to mention the Kochi airport, which is just 40 minutes away. Proximity to water transport and dedicated direct entry from the south metro station are other advantages.
Companies can also leverage the trust and extensive network of the Infopark ecosystem. The facility has been designed to accommodate more than 550 workstations, catering to various team sizes. Besides, there will be meeting rooms, private cabins, and dedicated collaboration zones.
