Experts, academicians, researchers, entrepreneurs, and professionals from India and abroad are expected to participate in the international conference ‘Confluence-2025’ to be hosted by G.M. University in Davangere on November 6, 7, and 8.

The theme for this year’s conference is “advancing sustainability through multidisciplinary research and innovation”.

Addressing presspersons in Davangere on Tuesday, co-chairman of the conference and Dean (Research and Innovation) K.N. Bharath said the aim of the conference will be to provide a platform to discuss sustainable and development innovations in science, technology, and management. The inauguration will take place at 10 a.m. on November 6.

Prof. Bharath said that Raghu Raghavan, De Montfort University, Leicester, United Kingdom ; T.V. Ramachandra, Centre of Ecological Sciences, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru; Zubica Velimirovic, Professor of Geometry, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, University of Nis, Serbia; Cornelia-Livia Bejan, Professor of Mathematics, Gharghe Asaki Technical University, Iasi, Romania; C. Sivakumar, Solid State and Structural Chemistry Unit, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru; Ram Subramanian, Serial Entrepreneur and Professor, IIIT, Dharwad, Karnataka; Anand M. Sivapooji, Senior Research Scientist, Centre for Sustainable Technologies, IISc, Bangalore; Rabindranath H. Aladakatti, Central Animal Facility, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru; Nandish V. Hiremath, Professor and Dean, Indus Business Academy, Bengaluru are some of the resource persons at the international conference.

He said that the conference structured around six thematic tracks, had received a good response with around 521 research papers being submitted from 10 countries and territories.

As many as 340 best papers will be presented during the conference. He said that the accepted research papers would be published in the conference proceedings and a few select research articles will be published in prestigious indexed journals.

On initiatives being taken by the university, he said that through targeted initiatives such as innovation hubs, incubation facilities and problem-solving research topics, the university and its faculty had enabled students and researchers to meaningfully engage with societal challenges ranging from environmental sustainability to advanced materials, AI and robotics and entrepreneurial ecosystems.
