The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), one of the State’s premier engineering institutions, launched an internship programme tailored for II PU (Pre-University) students on its campus here recently.
The initiative aims to introduce young minds to the dynamic world of engineering and technology, providing them with early exposure to applied learning, innovation, and research-oriented thinking. It will serve as a bridge between academic fundamentals and real-world applications, enabling students to make informed decisions about their future careers, a press release said.
Srinivas, senior delivery manager, L and T Technologies, Mysuru, who was the chief guest, emphasised the importance of hands-on experience and early engagement in technical fields.

More than 128 students from various PU colleges in and around Mysuru have enrolled under the internship programme. Over the course of the programme, students will be mentored by faculty and industry experts, engaged in lab-based sessions, and given an opportunity to explore key disciplines such as civil engineering, computer science, electronics, and mechanical.
