Saudi Arabia’s Al Arabiya on Tuesday reported what it says are the key points of a US-Iran memorandum of understanding, outlining a wide-ranging framework aimed at ending the war.

The outlet claims the draft includes an immediate and permanent end to fighting on all fronts, including Lebanon, alongside major steps on sanctions relief, military withdrawals and nuclear commitments.

According to Al Arabiya, the agreement would see the US immediately lift its naval blockade on Iran and end what it describes as “interference" in Iranian maritime routes. It also claims that US forces would withdraw from the region within one month of a final deal being signed.

In return, Iran would reopen the Strait of Hormuz within a month, restoring full passage through one of the world’s most important energy routes.

Nuclear Commitments

On the nuclear issue, Iran is said to have committed not to develop nuclear weapons under any circumstances. However, the question of enriched uranium stockpiles would be left for final negotiations, with the US reportedly allowing the current status quo to remain in place during the transition period.

The reported draft also suggests that both sides would agree on a long-term mechanism for compliance and verification once a final deal is reached.

The latest report on the Iran-US deal comes as the full text of the memorandum has not been released, and there is no independent verification of the claims.
