West Asia Conflict: A building in Dubai’s iconic Creek Harbour area was engulfed in flames after an Iranian drone hit the residential building in the wee hours of Thursday, authorities said in a statement.

In a post on X, Dubai Media Office said that emergency teams responded after the drone crashed into a building around 2:45 am local time on Thursday.

Residents of the building were evacuated as a precaution while emergency crews tackled the blaze. The Dubai Civil Defence teams acted swiftly to bring a minor fire under control after the drone incident.

Officials confirmed that no injuries have been reported.

“Authorities in Dubai are responding to an incident involving a drone that fell on a building in the vicinity of Dubai Creek Harbour. Authorities have fully brought the fire under control, and all residents are safe. No injuries have been reported," the Media Office said in a series of posts on X.

Authorities also released images showing fire damage to one of the floors of the building in Creek Harbor, a luxury waterfront district known for high-end residences and hotels such as Vida Creek Harbour, Address Harbour Point, and Palace Residences.

Videos of flames rising from the building circulated widely on social media shortly after the incident.

The incidents come amid rising regional tensions following the conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran. Earlier on Wednesday, two drones fell near Dubai International Airport. Three people — two Ghanaian nationals and a Bangladeshi — sustained minor injuries in that incident, while one Indian national was moderately injured.

In recent days, several locations in Dubai have reported drone-related incidents, including debris damage at the iconic Burj Al Arab earlier this month.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council condemned attacks on civilian targets in the Gulf region, calling them violations of international law and urging protection for shipping routes, including the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
