The Indian Red Cross Society-Vizianagaram Chairman K.R.D. Prasada Rao on Friday urged people to come forward and donate blood as there is a huge shortage of blood in government hospitals in Vizianagaram district.

In a press release, he said that the shortage is acute in the months of April and May, as students who form a significant group of donors are unavailable due to the holidays. The IRCS volunteers are actively reaching out to various clubs and service organisations to organise blood donation camps in association with the IRCS, which supplies blood on a cost-to-cost basis to needy patients.

IRCS volunteer and Anjaniputra Chiranjeevi Walkers Club President Tyda Ramakrishna Rao (Balu) said that representatives of many walkers clubs have assured their support to organise blood donation camps in the first week of June, 2025.
