Giannis Antetokounmpo’s sudden setback raises fresh questions about his performance
Giannis Antetokounmpo, the star forward for the Milwaukee Bucks, is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Sacramento Kings.
Due to a knee injury, Antetokounmpo was unable to play in his opening game of the season on Thursday against the Golden State Warriors. In the closing seconds of the Bucks' most recent game against the New York Knicks, he strained his knee, which caused him to become sore. Giannis Antetokounmpo was consequently sidelined one hour before the match.Due to "probable" left knee pain, the two-time MVP was late for the Warriors game.
Earlier this week, on October 28, Giannis sustained a knee injury late in the fourth quarter of the New York Knicks game. As he fought to recover, he was spotted clutching his knee. He participated in the warm-up and was classified as a probable before to tonight's game, but an hour before it began, he was declared out.Giannis would go with the club to the Warriors game on Thursday night, head coach Doc Rivers revealed, but he was unsure if the "Greek Freak" would play.
However, Giannis's situation didn't get better because he missed the game.
For the highly anticipated game against Steph Curry's Warriors, Rivers even hoped to have Antetokounmpo's services. But at the last minute, Rivers suffered a setback. Following the game, Rivers had stated:"Honestly, I didn’t even know; they came in, told me he was out.. I don’t even know what it is because it was so late; I was scrambling, trying to figure out what we were going to do."Since then, Giannis Antetokounmpo has become the focus of more and more worries. His status is still uncertain, although his ailment has been revised from left knee pain to left knee patellar tendinopathy. In the meantime, without their lucky charm, the Bucks performed remarkably well to narrowly defeat the dominant Warriors team. Milwaukee will be optimistic about its prospects of defeating the slumping Sacramento Kings if Giannis Antetokounmpo is unable to play on Saturday. On the other hand, the Bucks would prefer that their star player get back on the pitch as soon as possible. The "Greek Freak" has started the season with record-breaking figures, and a prolonged absence could be harmful to his playing rhythm.
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s record-breaking form hits pause due to an injury setback
Through the Bucks' first four games of the season, Antetokounmpo, 30, has averaged 36.3 points, 14 rebounds, and 7.0 assists. He was rated second in the league going into Thursday night's game in both scoring and rebounds, behind Denver's Nikola Jokic and Philadelphia's Tyrese Maxey. In his last three games, Antetokounmpo has shot at least 70% from the field and scored at least 30 points. Only six players in NBA history have achieved each of those statistical standards in three consecutive games, including him.

Meanwhile, his absence against the Warriors may be due to prudence, given the ailment does not currently appear to be overly significant.
