“Is John Cena a big wrestler?”: Peacemaker 2 actor Frank Gillo admits to not knowing John Cena’s wrestling legacy

John Cena, the WWE legend who is currently on his farewell tour, is known in the wrestling industry for his sheer contributions over 25 years in WWE. Though the legend has not restricted his talent to wrestling, he has left a mark of his acting in movies too.

Recently, the WWE legend has featured on Peacemaker 2 alongside American actor Frank Gillo. However, his Peacemaker co-star Frank Gillo has recently admitted that he did not know much about John Cena and his wrestling legacy until recently, when he was criticized by his son. It is to be noted that John Cena is by far one of the most successful and prominent wrestlers of all time, who has been reigning the industry for 25 years.

Let’s take a look at what Frank Gillo said on John Cena and his wrestling legacy.

Peacemaker 2 actor Frank Gillo has recently admitted to not knowing about John Cena’s wrestling legacy, much to his son’s dismay. In an interview with GQ published Friday, Grillo said he knew nothing about “Peacemaker” or its star when the director of the film, James Gunn, first approached him for Season 2. He said, “I had never seen ‘Peacemaker.’ I didn’t know who the f**k John Cena was,” Grillo revealed.

In order to learn more, he turned to someone who did. “I asked my son, ‘Is John Cena a big wrestler?’” Grillo recalled and said, “He goes, ‘You’re stupid.’” However, it has come to light that fans are quite disappointed about the fact that Gillo does not know much about John Cena and his contributions to the wrestling legacy.

John Cena rose to become one of WWE’s most celebrated and dominant fan favorites. He is one of the most prominent baby faces of all time. Earlier this year at WrestleMania 41, he made history by capturing the much-coveted WWE Undisputed Championship and became the world champion for the 17th time, setting a new record for the most title wins in WWE history. The WWE legend is currently gearing up for his final chapters before he signs off from WWE officially. As per reports, the legend will play his farewell match on December 13, 2025. He has 10 matches to play before his final retirement bout.
