As the actor has a film lined up with fellow veteran star, Kamal Haasan, latest reports suggest the 'Coolie' star might just bid farewell to acting after the release of the film.There's a buzz on social media that the Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan film, which has been the talk of the industry for years, may mark the end of the Superstar's acting career. On X, multiple accounts have been debating whether there is any truth to the rumours. The project is expected to be directed by 'Jailer' filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar, is said to be a massive multi-starrer that will bring the two cinema icons together after decades.

There are also rumours that Nelson Dilipkumar will begin work on the script and pre-production in 2026, with filming likely to commence in 2027.

Rajinikanth's upcoming projects

Currently, Rajinikanth is shooting the sequel to his superhit 'Jailer'. The film will continue the story and will have Anirudh Ravichander, known for the 'Hukum' track, taking over as the music.

The Superstar will then collaborate with director Sundar C for another big-budget entertainer, expected to go on floors in 2025.
