Stephen Curry will not play for the Golden State Warriors against the Utah Jazz on March 9, 2026. The guard remains out with right knee patellofemoral pain syndrome, the same injury that has kept him sidelined for several games and forced him to miss the 2026 All-Star Game.Golden State has been cautious with Curry’s recovery. Medical checks have shown improvement, but the team has decided to hold him out until at least March 13. That means he will miss another game as the Warriors continue their push for a Western Conference play-in spot.
Stephen Curry’s knee injury and recent absence
Stephen Curry first aggravated his right knee in late January during a game against the Detroit Pistons. The issue was diagnosed as patellofemoral syndrome along with bone bruising.
An MRI confirmed the problem, and the team initially listed him as day-to-day.The injury carried into February, leading to Curry being ruled out of the 2026 All-Star Game so he could focus on recovery. Another evaluation on March 1 showed that he needed at least another week before returning to the court.Stephen Curry has now missed 11 games. Before the injury, he appeared in 39 games this season and averaged 27.2 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.5 rebounds at age 37.
The Warriors have struggled during his absence. They hold a 9-15 record in games Curry has missed this season. Golden State enters the matchup with a 32-31 record, which places them eighth in the Western Conference standings.Without Curry, players such as Brandin Podziemski and Draymond Green have taken on larger roles. Podziemski has handled more scoring responsibilities, while Green continues to lead the defense.
