Streameast, the largest illegal sports streaming network, recently made headlines with the news of its shutdown. The giant, after an international anti-piracy operation, was claimed by the authorities, to be dismantled for good.

While it sparked widespread discussions amongst a vast user base, some announcements made through X by Streameast News Network seem to give a totally different picture. It is creating confusion for its massive user base, making them question whether Streameast has really shut down.

Streameast takes a defiant stance on social media

Despite the official announcements of Streameast’s demise, what appears to be an official X account of the platform has publicly pushed back on the news. Through a series of posts made on X, the service has denied all shutdown claims outright. They made their first post claiming, “We haven’t been shutdown.”

An hour later, another post came, bluntly saying, "They can’t stop us."

In the third and most cryptic Streameast social media response, they added another layer of intrigue. The message read, "Just received a text. All I can say is WOW."

All the communication made through Streameast News Network suggests operators are still active.

It also clearly shows how they are outright reacting to this ongoing situation, leaving fans wondering if Streameast will be back again in a new form.

Landmark operation which claimed the end of Streameast

Streameast’s takedown claims stem from a coordinated sting operation report that was shared recently. As per it, Egyptian authorities worked with global ACE anti-piracy alliance to conduct an investigation, which led to arrests just outside Cairo. The law enforcement, as per reports, has also arrested 2 suspects of running a vast piracy network.

They seized some critical evidence, including financial assets and computing equipment.Probe was also able to uncover a sophisticated financial system that’s designed to hide the operation’s revenue. It included the use of a shell company to funnel profits through advertising shown on some illicit websites. The network’s scale was enormous. It had 80 interconnected domains that collectively attracted 1.6 billion visits from sports fans who were seeking free access. As a result of a sting operation, the former Streameast domains, as per reports, were supposedly going to be redirected to the Watch Legally page that was promoted by ACE. It was intended to steer consumers towards paid and official streaming networks. The shutdown also represented a notable achievement in anti-piracy efforts, given the history of resilience of this network.Despite all claims and official reports, now that Streameast News Network claims it’s still working, it changes the entire narrative of the result obtained through the sting. Only time will tell whether or not Streameast illegal streaming will still be available.
