Trump was briefed by CENTCOM on new strike plans as the US rushed 6,500 tonnes of munitions and equipment to Israel, signaling possible escalation.

United States President Donald Trump was briefed by CENTCOM on new plans for strikes on Thursday, Axios reported. Speaking to Axios, two US officials said that the briefing by CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper and Chairperson of the Joint Chiefs continued for around 45 minutes.

The meeting came at a time when the Jerusalem Post reported that the United States had sent 6,500 tonnes of munitions and military equipment to Israel within 24 hours, signalling that Trump might be planning a potential escalation to end the standoff.

According to Israel’s Defence Ministry, the massive shipment arrived via two cargo ships and multiple aircraft in a coordinated logistics operation. The vessels docked at Port of Ashdod and Port of Haifa, carrying thousands of air and ground munitions, military trucks, Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs), and other equipment.

The operation was led by the ministry’s Defence Procurement Directorate in coordination with multiple divisions, including its mission in the US and the Israeli military’s planning wing. Equipment was later transported on hundreds of trucks to bases across the country.

“Since the launch of Operation Roaring Lion, Israel has received more than 115,600 tonnes of military equipment in 403 airlifts and 10 sealifts," said the ministry, in a statement.
