ISKCON cultural festival in Hubballi from July 7 to 11

Around 12,000 students from various schools of Hubballi-Dharwad are expected to participate in the ‘ISKCON Cultural Festival’ scheduled to be held at ISKCON temple premises at Rayapur in Hubballi from July 7 to 11.

Addressing press persons along with Managing Director of Swarnaa Group of Comapnies V.S.V Prasad in Hubballi on Friday, President of ISKCON Hubballi Dharwad Rajiv Lochan Dasa said that as many as 15 competitions including dance, singing, quiz, painting , hand writing and others would be held during the event.

Rajiv Lochan Dasa said that already over 7,000 children had registered for the cultural festival and there number was likely to reach 12,000 before the start of the event on July 7. The inaugural event will be held at 10.30 a.m. on July 7 and all the participants will get participation certificates.

He said that along with special prizes for the winning students in each competition, teachers would be honoured with special prizes and best performing school would be honoured with championship trophy.

Rajiv Lochan Dasa said that the first phase of the ISKCON Temple was nearing completion and the formal inauguration would be held on November 14. Swarnaa Group of Companies had constructed the ground floor spread over 25,000 sqft.

V.S.V. Prasad said that the cultural festival was being organised for the past 23 years with the sole objective of making the younger generation taking pride in Indian culture and heritage. He said Swarnaa Group was adopting around 40 poor meritorious students to help them pursue their course of interest. Among them one student was pursuing MBBS and five were pursuing engineering now, he said adding that financial assistance was also being extended to poor meritorious students. Vice President of ISKCON Raghottam Dasa and Ram Gopal Dasa were present.
