House Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters in Washington on Friday that President Donald Trump was secretly helping the FBI against Jeffrey Epstein.

Johnson said Trump banned Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida when he first heard of the allegations. He added that Trump was moved by sympathy for women who suffered abuse.“He was an FBI informant trying to take this down,” Johnson said. “The president knows and has great sympathy for the women who suffered these unspeakable harms. It is detestable to him. We spoke about this as recently as 24 hours ago.”A few hours later, commentator Marlene Robertson, who calls herself a secular humanist, mocked Johnson’s claim online.

Martina Navratilova reacted on X (formerly Twitter) to Robertson’s post. Her reply was short but sharp: “lol. And true. #hoax.”
