‘SO, SO, SO GOOD!’

Casey Bloys calls J.K. Rowling's statements 'a nuanced and complicated controversy'
HBO
Chairman and CEO Casey Bloys previously addressed Rowling’s controversial opinions and the impact that would have on the TV show on The Town with Matthew Belloni podcast. He stated that working with the author is nothing new; in fact, they have been working together for over 25 years. “It’s pretty clear that those are her personal, political views. She’s entitled to them. Harry Potter is not secretly being infused with anything. If you want to debate her, you can go on Twitter,” he added, according to Deadline. In the recent past, Bloys also confirmed that Rowling would be an executive producer and would certainly be working closely with the project, as her insights would be helpful in the scenario. “Our priority is what’s on the screen. Obviously, the Harry Potter story is incredibly affirmative and positive and about love and self-acceptance. That’s our priority — what’s on screen,” he said, adding that her anti-transgender statements are quite a complicated and nuanced controversey.
