Heavy rainfall in Jammu, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand triggers flash flood and landslide warnings. Roads like Jammu–Srinagar NH-44 are blocked.

Heavy rainfall continues in Jammu with warnings of flash floods and landslides. Low-lying and hilly areas remain highly vulnerable, and residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid non-essential travel until conditions improve.

The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Himachal Pradesh. Flash floods and landslides remain a major threat, particularly in the hill districts of Kullu, Chamba and Mandi, where roads have been frequently blocked. Tourists are strongly advised to postpone travel to sensitive regions until weather conditions stabilise.

Continuous downpours are causing a high risk of landslides in Pithoragarh, Chamoli and Rudraprayag. Several stretches along the Badrinath and Kedarnath routes have been blocked. Authorities have urged pilgrims to delay their travel plans until the situation improves.

Highways across Jammu, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand remain blocked at multiple points due to landslides. Water levels in the Beas, Chenab and Ganga tributaries are rising dangerously, while several remote villages have lost connectivity as a result of heavy rains and overflowing rivers.

Vehicular movement on the Jammu–Srinagar NH-44 remains suspended due to landslides, shooting stones and heavy rainfall. The Jammu–Pathankot highway will reopen only after a fresh assessment of road conditions. The Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag road, Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari route at Bajri Nallah, and the Mughal Road also remain closed, bringing traffic to a complete halt across these stretches.

Traffic Helplines: Authorities have urged travellers to confirm road status before starting their journey. For updates, residents can contact the Traffic Control Units in Jammu (0191-2459048, 0191-2740550, 9419147732, 103), Srinagar (0194-2450022, 2485396, 18001807091, 103), Ramban (9419993745, 1800-180-7043), Udhampur (8491928625), PCR Kishtwar (9906154100) and PCR Kargil (9541902330, 9541902331).

State authorities have advised people to avoid non-essential journeys during this period of heavy rainfall. Travellers are urged to carry essentials if stranded and closely follow disaster management updates. In case of emergencies, residents can dial 112 or contact the NDRF Control Room at 9711077372.
