Several Bollywood celebs joined in for the Mumbai premiere of 'Homebound', India’s official entry to the 2026 Academy Awards. it was Janhvi Kapoor who added a heartfelt, personal touch to the occasion by wearing her mom Sridevi's saree.
The actress, one of the film’s leads, was spotted posing with boyfriend Shikhar Pahariya’s family, including his parents and grandfather, veteran politician Sushil Kumar Shinde.
Fans quickly noticed this rare public moment, interpreting it as Janhvi’s quiet acknowledgment of her growing closeness with Shikhar’s family.
Janhvi's tribute to Sridevi
Janhvi Kapoor chose to honour her late mother, Sridevi as she was seen wearing a royal blue and black pashmina saree from Sridevi’s own collection. The saree, famously worn at Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s wedding reception, added an emotional layer to Janhvi’s appearance. Fans showered love on Janhvi's choice of saree. The premiere was attended by Bollywood heavyweights including Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Hrithik Roshan, Farah Khan, and Vicky Kaushal, celebrating director Neeraj Ghaywan’s powerful narrative.

I was on a flight back from New York to Mumbai. I lost connection for the duration, and then finally when it came back, it was like a barrage of messages on my phone and people were calling me.
