Senior Iranian and US delegations met Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Saturday for separate talks to begin negotiations towards a deal to end the ongoing US-Israeli war on Iran that has driven up energy prices and raised fears of inflation worldwide.

The talks began at Islamabad’s Serena Hotel, with the Iranian delegation led by parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf meeting Shehbaz Sharif, followed by US Vice President JD Vance, who was accompanied by White House envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
