‘Jersey Shore’ alum Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi diagnosed with cancer; says, ‘it’s sad and scary’

‘Jersey Shore’ alum Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi has shared that after years of receiving abnormal pap smear results, which led to closer monitoring by her physicians, further testing through a colposcopy and biopsy revealed her cervix has cancerous cells.

Polizzi shared a detailed account of her diagnosis and the next step in the journey through a video. She mentioned she was terrified on hearing the news, and advocated that no woman should miss her doctor appointments.

“Results come back,” she said in a January 21 video posted on her social media account detailing her experience. “Doctor calls me, and he’s like, ‘Not looking great.’ He found cancerous cells on the top of my cervix.”

Polizzi noted she will need to have an additional cone biopsy under anesthesia for further testing, but though she feels “terrified,” she is focused on getting answers.“It’s scary,” she said, “but we have to get it done because cervical cancer is nothing to joke about." Polizzi also shared that she initially “waited” on scheduling her appointments out of stress. She added, “So ladies, stay on your appointments is basically what this video is about,” the 38-year-old said, “because we're talking the future.

If now this biopsy comes back, not great, the next step would be a hysterectomy.

”Though Nicole said that she and husband Jionni LaValle are “obviously” done having kids (they share two sons and a daughter), she started crying at the thought of the possible procedure. “The thought of getting a hysterectomy, it’s sad, and it's scary,” she said. “I'm done having kids, but the thought of not being able to have kids, I think that's what's killing me.

But whatever, whatever to keep me healthy and safe, to be here for my kids that I have now,” added Polizzi.She then asked her fans and followers for advice and words of comfort.“I would love for just the community of mamas who has gotten this done and is dealing with this to just comment below,” Nicole said. “So we have a community of us who are scared and dealing with this to be there for each other, because being a woman is not easy, and this is definitely a scary thing.

And I know I’m going to be fine. It’s just… it’s scary.”
