Jharkhand High Court Orders Chatra SP to Investigate Missing Teenager Case

Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Wednesday directed Chatra SP to investigate the whereabouts of a missing teenager who is allegedly missing since Jan 31 this year.The teenager’s mother Akhtari Khatoon has filed a petition of habeas corpus before the HC stating that her 19-year-old son was picked up by the police in Chatra and detained in Lawalong police station.The teenager went missing on Jan 31, after which the petition was filed before the high court on Feb 4. The court was informed that the victim was handed over to his maternal uncle Mohammed Ghulam. However, Ghulam denied having received the teenager. Observing that there some missing elements in the investigation, the HC asked SP to look into it and file a report. The matter will be heard on March 19.
