Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler made his presence at the US Open Semifinals, where Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic in straight sets to book a spot in Sunday’s championship match.
Butler, who is also known for his love of tennis, met Alcaraz backstage, sharing an exchange that showed their heartfelt friendship and mutual respect.

Backstage footage captured Butler greeting the 22-year-old Spaniard moments after his victory. “Vamos,” Alcaraz said with a grin before Butler replied, “’Sup baby boy, how are you? How you doing man? Have a great game?” The two embraced multiple times, chatting like longtime friends.“You look good, man, come on,” Butler told him. Alcaraz responded warmly: “Great seeing you.” Butler added, “I’m happy for you bro, as always,” to which Alcaraz answered, “Thank you very much, thank you.”
Their conversation drifted beyond tennis. Alcaraz reminded Butler they had spoken the day before and asked where he was heading. “Morocco,” Butler said, before promising, “I gotta come see you. I told you, Imma be a better friend.”
He even revealed plans to support Alcaraz at Wimbledon next summer. “Coming soon, next summer, I’m coming to Wimbledon. I can’t come to Australia Open. It’s too far.” The exchange ended with more hugs, Butler encouraging the Spaniard to “start that recovery” before heading out.

Alcaraz’s win over Djokovic marked a significant milestone in their budding rivalry. The 6-4, 7-6(4), 6-2 result was his first hard-court triumph against the 24-time Grand Slam champion.
“It’s a great feeling. Once again in the final here at the US Open, it feels amazing,” Alcaraz said in his on-court interview. “I served pretty well, I think that was really, really important.
