Upset over the number of posts notified for recruitment being reduced, job aspirants gathered in front of the head office of North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) in Hubballi, staged a demonstration and submitted a memorandum to the authorities on June 17.
The job aspirants are upset over the number of posts being reduced after publishing the provisional selection list.
As per recruitment notification of 1/2019, NWKRTC had called for applications for filling up 2,814 posts of driver and driver-cum-conductor. The documentation process has been completed and also the test of proficiency after which the provisional list was published. However, now the number of posts has been trimmed to 1,000, which enraged job aspirants.
Earlier, the job aspirants had formally submitted a memorandum demanding recruitment for all the 2,814 posts that had been notified.
On June 17, they gathered outside the head office of NWKRTC, and reiterated their demand for recruitment to all the posts.
Subsequently, a delegation led by BJP leader Subhash Singh Jamadar, Manjunath Malashetty, Malatesh G. N., Khalandar Hubballi, and Prasad Karanandi met NWKRTC Managing Director Priyanga M. with a request to fulfil their demand. Ms. Priyanga assured them of writing to the government of Karnataka mentioning their demand and act as per the direction of senior officials.
