John Beam died from a gunshot wound after he was shot on the Laney College campus, police said.Police said John Beam was shot around noon near the fieldhouse at Laney College. The campus went into lockdown right away to keep students safe. Officers found John Beam with very serious injuries, and he was taken to Highland Hospital.
