In his latest post on Instagram, John Cena dropped a photo of fellow WWE superstar The Miz dropping current AEW superstar Samoa Joe during their match from a WWE event in Saudi Arabia. With the 17-time World Champion recently igniting his feud with CM Punk on the June 9th edition of RAW, speculation began that this was a jab towards the Best in the World.Back in 2020, Punk was involved in a heated online exchange with The Awesome One that was aimed at WWE & Saudi Arabia's partnership that began as a 10-year deal in 2018. Punk said, “Go suck a blood money covered d** in Saudi Arabia you f****** dork.”
The former WWE Champion's comment became a highly controversial remark he had ever made. Moreover, it has already been two years since he returned to WWE, and he has not competed in any event held in Saudi Arabia.
However, Punk has finally agreed to compete in the country this year.This week on RAW, John Cena and CM Punk met each other face-to-face in the ring. Following a heated exchange between the two longtime WWE rivals, Cena offered to put his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Punk. However, he told him that he would have to follow him to Saudi Arabia at the Night of Champions 2025 Premium Live Event.
The Second City Saint agreed to the showdown, and it was made official later that night.
