John Cena is ready to say goodbye to WWE's SmackDown division after tonight's show in Chicago. There are just a handful of matches left before he retires from professional wrestling for good, and now it has been confirmed that this will be his last appearance in SmackDown, which is set to take place in Chicago.

Cena's journey in WWE began in Chicago's Allstate Arena some 23 years ago, in SmackDown. And now after all this time, this is where he says goodbye to SmackDown for good. Talk about full circle.

John Cena's Chicago show will be last SmackDown event

John Cena officially appeared on television for the first time as a wrestler in the WWE on June 27th, 2002. It was an episode of WWE SmackDown in Chicago, in the Allstate Arena. Now 23 years later, he will be back in that same arena, and has chosen this exact venue to say his goodbye to the Blue Brand after all that time.

As reported by WrestleVotes, "with only seven remaining dates left—and just two yet to be announced—it’s unlikely another will be a SmackDown event.

"

While this will be his last SmackDown appearance, John Cena has also made his way into the RAW division of WWE in the last few months since his Farewell Tour began. So fans will see him in the regular events again, just not in the Blue Brand. The Red is still fair game. And of course, he will be at a few other PPV shows before his last one comes knocking at us.Also Read: John Cena turns heads as he carries wife Shay Shariatzadeh over puddle during sweet public moment
