Josh Allen opened up about his married life with actress Hailee Steinfeld. The Buffalo Bills star appeared on The Pat McAfee Show on Friday, September 19, 2025. He said he sometimes helps his wife prepare for her acting roles.
Josh Allen explained that Steinfeld usually works on her scripts alone.
But he said she gives him updates and even lets him join in for some fun practice. The couple got married on May 31, 2025 in Santa Barbara, California. Their wedding took place just three months before the new NFL season.

Pat McAfee asked Allen on the show if he ever runs lines with Steinfeld. Allen smiled and said, “I wouldn’t say we run lines.” He explained that Steinfeld usually reads her scripts by herself.
But she still talks to him about them.
Josh Allen then revealed a fun detail. “At some points, we kind of go off and do some improv stuff, so it’s pretty fun,” he said. He also praised his wife. He called Steinfeld “an absolute stud” and “the best.”McAfee told Allen that even his own wife had texted him about Steinfeld’s role in Dickinson. The actress played poet Emily Dickinson in the Apple TV+ series. Allen said he loved watching her dedication, even when she prepared alone.

Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen’s wedding and love story
The couple’s story began in May 2023 when they were first linked. They made their relationship Instagram official in July 2024. Later, Allen proposed in Malibu, California on November 22, 2024. The proposal included roses and a romantic setup by the ocean. They shared photos on Instagram, writing the date with infinity signs.Their wedding followed in Santa Barbara on May 31, 2025. Close family and friends joined them.
The pair decided to ban phones during the ceremony. Steinfeld later wrote about the day in her Beau Society newsletter. She said it was “full of love and magic.”She described the venue as glowing with nature and love. “It felt like love was running through the veins of every tree,” she wrote. For the couple, it was one of the best decisions to keep guests fully present.Allen’s small confession on The Pat McAfee Show gave fans a sweet glimpse into their bond.
