JSS AHER hosts workshop on digital health strategies

JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER), in collaboration with the University of Wolverhampton, U.K., organised an international workshop on “Delivering Digital Health Strategies: Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) & Ayushman Bharat Arogya Karnataka” at JSS Medical College here on Tuesday.

The workshop, coordinated by Vikram Patil of JSS AHER and Suresh Renukappa of University of Wolverhampton, was aimed at exploring the digital healthcare ecosystem and the challenges faced by citizens, healthcare providers, and governments in implementing ABDM and Ayushman Bharat Arogya Karnataka.

H. Basavanagowdappa, Vice-Chancellor, JSS AHER, inaugurated the workshop. Prashant Pillai, Pro Vice-Chancellor, University of Wolverhampton, delivered the keynote address, while Utpal Tatu of Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru spoke on the “One Health” concept.

The government perspectives were shared by Chandrashekar P. and Prakash from Chamarajanagar district health services. Tonny Veenith of the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust presented insights into the U.K.’s NHS, while Nanda Kumar of Ramaiah Medical College spoke on emerging health technologies.

Nagaraju Yabbati from The Energy and Resources Institute highlighted sustainable energy solutions for healthcare, and Natesh D.B., CEO, Khadi and Village Industries, discussed policy implementation challenges, according to the organisers.

Afternoon sessions included focus group discussions on ABDM adoption drivers, challenges, and best practices, with active participation from JSS AHER faculty and experts from Wolverhampton. The workshop concluded with remarks from Subashini Suresh, University of Wolverhampton, a note stated.

The event served as a platform for dialogue on delivering effective, efficient, and inclusive healthcare services through digital and smart policies.
