Sending resignation as BRS member, says K Kavitha day after being suspended over alleged anti-party activities
Telangana Jagruthi President K Kavitha, on Wednesday handed over her resignation as MLC to the Speaker, a day after she was suspended from the party by her father and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao, for her explosive remarks against senior leaders, including her cousin T Harish Rao.
In her parting statement, Kavitha alleged that Harish Rao had been “working against the party” and claimed he shared ties with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. She also accused him of helping BJP leader Eatela Rajender.
“I urge Ram Anna to take care of KCR’s health and the party karyakartas,” she said.
The BRS suspended Kavitha on Tuesday after she openly accused Harish Rao and ex-MP J Santosh Kumar of conspiring against her father and former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao. The party said her actions went against its policies and principles.
Kavitha’s suspension and resignation come amid weeks of internal turbulence. She had earlier accused party insiders of plotting her removal as honorary president of the Telangana Boggu Ghani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS), calling the decision politically motivated. She also blamed senior leaders for attaching a “corruption tag” to KCR and alleged efforts to weaken the party from within.
