K.S. Viswanathan assumes charge as Director of Information and Public Relations in Vijayawada

K.S. Viswanathan assumed charge as Director of the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department of Andhra Pradesh on Monday at the State headquarters in the NTR Administration Block, Vijayawada.

He succeeded Mr. Himanshu Shukla, who has been transferred and appointed as District Collector of Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district. Following Mr. Shukla’s transfer, Mr. Prakhar Jain had been holding additional charge until Mr. Viswanathan’s formal appointment.

Mr. Viswanathan earlier served as Commissioner of the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA). In his administrative career, he has held key positions including Assistant Collector in Anantapur, Sub-Collector in Narasapuram, and Joint Collector in Prakasam and Visakhapatnam districts.

After assuming charge, Mr. Viswanathan was congratulated by senior officials and staff of the I&PR Department. He later reviewed the department’s ongoing programmes and overall functioning with officials.
