K. Shivalingappa Handihal’s Notebook wins Sahitya Akademi’s Bal Sahitya Puraskar in Kannada category

The Sahitya Akademi on Wednesday announced its annual awards for 2025. In the Kannada category, K. Shivalingappa Handihal has won the Bal Sahitya Puraskar for his collection of short stories Notebook. The akademi, in a press release, stated that the award comprises a casket containing an engraved copper plaque and a cheque for ₹50,000. The award will be presented at a special ceremony later. The Bal Sahitya Puraskar recognises outstanding contributions to children’s literature in various Indian languages.
