The countdown concludes for Dulquer Salmaan's epic 'Kaantha', as the highly-anticipated trailer drops, brought to life by pan-Indian sensation Prabhas. This visually stunning period drama draws inspiration from the legendary MK Thyagaraja Bhagavathar, featuring Dulquer in the role of a mythical performer.

About 'Kaantha' trailer

The trailer offers audiences a visually rich and emotionally charged period drama. The Dulquer Salmaan starrer is set in a bygone era that celebrates the evolution of music, art, and storytelling.The narrative which is reportedly inspired by the life of the late Tamil legend MK Thyagaraja Bhagavathar, sees Dulquer Salmaan portraying the legendary performer.

A day before the trailer release, Dulquer took to social media to express his excitement. He wrote,“Honoured and thrilled that India’s Biggest Superstar #Prabhas Garu will be launching the #Kaantha Trailer tomorrow at 11 AM! Can’t wait to share this special film with you all! ”The trailer also introduces Bhagyashri Borse as the leading lady, marking her impressive entry into a period setting.

The visuals depict Samuthirakani guiding Dulquer’s character. They are both portraying a mentor-mentee bond.

A Pan-Indian release

Kaantha will be released in five languages Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The film’s cinematography by Dani Sanchez Lopez, editing by Llewellyn Anthony Gonsalvez, and music by Jhanu Chanthar create a rich tapestry of nostalgia and grandeur.Thamizh Prabha has served as story consultant and dialogue writer, with Sri Harsha Rameshwaram contributing as an additional screenwriter.

Originally slated for a September 12 release, Kaantha will now hit theatres on November 14, 2025.Meanwhile, Dulquer Salmaan was last seen as the character Odiyan in the recently released superhero movie 'Lokah', starring Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead. Dulquer will next join forces with the 'RDX' director Nahas Hidhayath for the actioner 'I'M Game'.
