TIRUPATI: Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy labelled the TDP’s Mahanadu as a Bhajan programme, as the ruling party’s two-day conclave was confined to heaping praises and glorifying TDP National President Nara Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh. The TDP Mahanadu, attended by approximately 25,000 odd party workers, turned out to be a damp squib as the event failed to focus its attention on the delivery of the “Super Six” and other election promises extended to the people of the state by the TDP. “Instead of telling the people about how they were going to fulfil the promises, leaders got completely carried away while heaping praises on Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh,” Avinash Reddy lamented at a press conference held in Kadapa. The Kadapa MP further observed that “while the TDP leaders boasted about holding their maiden Mahanadu at former CM and YSRCP Chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s homeland, they completely ignored discussion on the development of the backward Rayalaseema region of the state.”He also blamed the TDP leaders for deliberately hurting the sentiments of the people of Kadapa district by tying their party flags on and around YSR statues all over Kadapa district.
"The focus of Mahanadu is more on self-praise and criticism of the opposition. The incumbent govt that does not care to fulfil its election promises has no right to target the erstwhile regime that actually reached out to the public," he cautioned. The MP warned that the public would not take such demeaning gestures lightly and would reciprocate at the right moment and in an appropriate manner.
