Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has asserted that the Kaleshwaram project taken up by the previous BRS Government does not have the clearance of the then State Cabinet.
The project came before the Cabinet when cost escalation was sought and not for permission for taking it up, he said.
The Chief Minister’s remark assumes significance in the light of BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and former Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao deposing before the judicial commission headed by P.C. Ghose that the project was cleared by the Cabinet.
The Chief Minister told reporters that the Government received a communication from the judicial commission seeking minutes of the meeting of the Cabinet relating to approval of Kaleshwaram project. “We are prepared to expose the previous government by submitting all proofs to the commission before June 30, including the minutes of the Cabinet meeting,” he said.
