Gulshan Devaiah is enjoying the success of his role in Rishab Shetty's 'Kantara: Chapter 1,' playing King Kulashekara. Recently, he opened up about his collaboration with the actor-filmmaker. The 'Hunterrr' actor described working with Rishab Shetty as "one of the most creatively fulfilling experiences" of his career.While speaking with IANS, Gulshan Devaiah described the 2025 release of 'Kantara: Chapter 1' as the culmination of this long-standing creative bond. "Working with Rishabh has been one of the most creatively fulfilling experiences of my career. He's an exceptional storyteller, someone who approaches his stories with outstanding passion, honesty, and sincerity. He leads by example and brings out the best in everyone around him," the actor added.Rishab Shetty and Gulshan Devaiah connected before 'Kantara'During the same conversation, the 'Guns & Gulaabs' actor revealed that his professional rapport with Rishab Shetty started long before 'Kantara: Chapter 1' came into being. "Rishab met me through a common friend, PD Satish Chandra, and expressed his desire to work with me. I didn't know who he was in 2019, but I liked meeting him very much. He was sincere, a lover of cinema, and very passionate about telling his stories," he shared.
He also shared that there were discussions where, in a few projects, he was supposed to play the lead. "The first few projects discussed didn’t work out for various reasons,” Gulshan Devaiah said.Mutual admiration and respectRecalling the first meeting with Rishab Shetty, Gulshan Devaiah said that he felt an instant creative connection with him. He shared that there was a lot of mutual respect for work. They also discussed collaborating someday, without giving much thought to what scale of project they will. "We spoke about the idea of collaborating someday, and though we didn't know in what capacity or when it would happen, there was a shared intention that something would bring us together," he said.In 12 days, 'Kantara: Chapter 1' has crossed the Rs 450 crore mark in India as per trade analyst Sacnilk.
