MANGALURU: Four persons were booked for consuming narcotic substances and misbehaving in a public place at Kallandadka in Kabaka village, Puttur.According to the police, on Wednesday evening, Anjaneya Reddy G.V, Police Sub-Inspector, Puttur Town Police Station, along with the staff, was on rounds within the station limits.
They received information that four persons were misbehaving in a public place at Kallandadka in Kabaka village of Puttur taluk. Acting on this tip-off, the team reached the spot and found four individuals behaving in an inappropriate manner in a public place.Upon stopping and questioning them, it was noticed that they appeared to be under the influence of some narcotic substance. During the inquiry, they admitted to consuming narcotic drugs. The accused are Mubarak, 21, Abdul Anas, 21, from Nekkilady village, Puttur, Umar Farooq, 41, from Kabaka village, Puttur, and Hitesh, 21, from Biliyur village, Bantwal.They were subjected to a medical examination on the same day, which confirmed the consumption of a prohibited narcotic substance. A case was registered at Puttur Town Police Station under Section 27(b) of the NDPS Act, and the investigation is ongoing.
