Karnataka man detained at Mahabodhi temple released

Gaya: The person detained by Bodh Gaya police on Sunday on the charge of smuggling a spy camera inside world-famous Mahabodhi temple was released on Monday on furnishing personal surety.

He was identified as Bishwanath Malappa (30), a resident of Bijapur (Karnataka).During questioning, Bishwanath told the police that he inadvertently took the camera in the prohibited zone and did not have any ill intention.According to SHO, Bodh Gaya, Manoj Kumar Singh, a non-cognizable case was registered against him and he was granted bail by the police on furnishing personal surety.The Karnataka native, along with his two friends, was in Bodh Gaya for sightseeing. Before releasing him on bail, the police verified his antecedents.
