Karnataka police register case against RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat for provocative speech

MANGALURU: The Dakshina Kannada district police registered a case against RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat for allegedly delivering a provocative speech during a condolence meeting held in Bantwal.According to the police, the event took place on May 12 at the Madwa Palace Kalyana Mantapa in Kavalapaduru village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Bantwal Rural Police Station. The meeting was organised following the recent murder of Suhas Shetty within Mangaluru City Police limits.While addressing a gathering of around 500 people at the event, Bhat allegedly made statements that could disturb communal harmony and incite animosity between different communities.Citing concerns over potential threats to law and order, the police registered a case against Bhat on Monday at the Bantwal Rural Police Station under Section 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.Case booked against 15 persons at KadabaThe Kadaba police registered a case against 15 persons for unlawful assembly and protest outside the Kadaba Police Station.In a bid to maintain law and order across Dakshina Kannada district, police have been monitoring the activities of key members of various organisations.

According to sources, as part of this preventive exercise, police teams have been visiting prominent leaders from both communities and keeping track of their movements.Dakshina Kannada SP Arun K said opposing these measures, around 15 individuals, including Pramod Rai, Nanduguri, Tilak, Nanduguri, Mohan, Kerekodi, Chandrashekhar, Noojibalthila, Mahesh, Kutruppadi, Deekayya, Noojibalthila, Sujith, Kutruppadi, Sharath, Nanduguri, Shreyath, Nanduguri, Umesh, Noojibalthila, Radhakrishna, K, Jayanth, and three others, reportedly gathered unlawfully without prior permission and staged a protest outside the Kadaba Police Station on Sunday night.Following the incident, a case was registered against them invoking Sections 189(2) and 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
