Karnataka’s Puttur police register case against provocative social media post

MANGALURU: The Puttur Town Police have registered a suo motu case against a provocative post on social media. The police said that the case was registered against the admin for publishing content that could harm communal harmony.It was found that an individual operating a Facebook page named “Bharatiya Sene” allegedly posted false news capable of creating enmity between religions and communities, thereby disturbing communal harmony and causing public anxiety. In this connection, on Sunday, the police registered a case under Sections 196(1)(a) and 353(2) of the BNS, and further legal action will be taken.
