Karnataka Weather: The weather department has predicted generally cloudy skies with heavy rainfall and thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds in Bengaluru from May 25 to 29.

Several parts of the country are witnessing heavy rain, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Kerala, among several others. The monsoon has already arrived in Kerala, and its neighbouring have also been lashed by heavy downpours.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Karnataka for May 26 and 27. Rain has caused massive disruption to the normal lives of people across the state. Several areas of Bengaluru were flooded due to heavy rain. The IMD has predicted a rainy week for the city.

The weather department has predicted generally cloudy skies with heavy rainfall and thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds in Bengaluru from May 25 to 29. Wind speeds are expected to range between 30 and 40 kmph during this period. The weather pattern is likely to bring relief from the heat while also raising concerns about localized flooding and traffic disruptions.

The maximum temperature is expected to remain between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will settle in between 19 and 20 degrees Celsius.

Several parts of Karnataka, including Mangaluru, Nujibaltil, and Kadaba, are experiencing significant disruption due to heavy rainfall. In Mangaluru and Ullal, intense downpours have led to widespread flooding, severely affecting normal life.

Road traffic between Pachchanadi and Moodushedde was disrupted after strong winds brought down trees, blocking key routes.

In Ullal taluk, riverbank villages such as Pavoor Harekal, Ullal, Ambilimogaru, and Munnur have been particularly hard-hit, with floodwaters inundating homes and farmlands, leaving residents struggling to cope with the aftermath.

Seven houses were reportedly damaged—six in Mangaluru and one in Bantwal.

A red alert has been issued for Karnataka for Monday and Tuesday, with IMD warning of heavy rain and strong wings.

The district administration has also advised parents to keep their children away from flooded areas. It also asked people to refrain under trees, near electric poles, or near snapped wires.

As Karnataka braces for more rain, authorities have advised people to take proper precautions.
