Tragedy struck in Jammu's Kathua district as a bus carrying pilgrims skidded off the Dhar Road, plunging into a gorge.
JAMMU: At least 23 pilgrims were injured on Wednesday after a bus carrying them to a temple veered off the road and plunged into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district, officials said. The accident occurred near Dingi Simbli on the Dhar Road when the bus, carrying devotees from Goran and Sumb villages in Samba district, was on its way to the revered Mata Sukrala Devi Temple in Billawar. Local residents were the first to reach the scene and began rescue operations before police teams arrived to assist in evacuating the passengers. All 23 injured pilgrims were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Officials said four of the injured were in critical condition(With PTI inputs)
