'Keep inspiring and breaking our hearts'; Anurag Kashyap backs 'Main Vaapas Aaunga'; Questions theatre show allocation

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has come out in strong support of 'Main Vaapas Aaunga', the latest film directed by Imtiaz Ali. The director took to social media to praise the movie and encourage viewers to watch it on the big screen.

Anurag Kashyap's post quickly caught the attention of film lovers.

A heartfelt message for Imtiaz Ali

On Tuesday, Anurag Kashyap shared a black-and-white photograph of Imtiaz Ali on Instagram. Along with the image, he posted a message appreciating the filmmaker's latest release.“The fresh brand new @imtiazaliofficial. After his first film CHAMKILA, his sophomore film MAIN VAPAS AAOONGA is running in cinemas. Go watch it, and I love you Muttonkhor

. Keep inspiring and breaking our hearts."

'Heartbreaking Crime' remark

Anurag Kashyap did not limit his praise to Imtiaz Ali alone. He also acknowledged several members of the film's creative team and collaborators. In a playful message, he joked about Imtiaz repeatedly working with artists and technicians he personally admires. The humorous remark soon became one of the most discussed parts of the post.“Aur mere humdumon ko chori karna band karo, humein bhi kaam karna hai (And stop stealing all my favourite collaborators, yaar.

The rest of us have films to make too). Kudos to your partners in this heartbreaking crime @sylvesterfonseca @artb @purplehaze.png @arrahman @irshadkamilofficial #nayanikamahtani @dhiman.karmakar @sumanroymahapatra #shibashishsarkar."The phrase "heartbreaking crime" particularly resonated with fans, who viewed it as a light-hearted tribute to the team's work.

Concerns over theatre show allocation

Earlier, Anurag raised concerns regarding the number of shows being allotted to Indian films in theatres.

The filmmaker argued that locally produced movies often struggle to secure enough screens and favourable show timings. He questioned whether domestic cinema was receiving the support it deserved. “I totally understand that everyone wants to see OBSESSION, but it can still run longer with lesser shows. If we don’t prioritise our own films with better showcasing then I don’t understand how we will grow.

Last week it was with BANDAR, this week with MAIN VAPAS AAUNGA, SING GHEETAM and GOVERNER. We have one morning show of MVA and maybe another in some cinemas, and the same with GOVERNER and no show of SING GHEETAM in Bengaluru, while OBSESSION is in 6-7 shows."Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Main Vaapas Aaunga features Diljit Dosanjh,

Naseeruddin Shah

and

Vedang Raina

in important roles. Meanwhile, the Hollywood film 'Obsession' is getting much love from horror fans.
