Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday made a significant political announcement, confirming that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. The declaration was made during his visit to Gujarat, underscoring the party’s ambitions to broaden its national footprint.
Speaking at a press conference held in Delhi on Thursday, Kejriwal also clarified that AAP has no alliance with the Congress party. He emphasized that the INDIA alliance was formed specifically for the Lok Sabha elections.
Kejriwal stated that preparations are underway for AAP to make its electoral debut in Bihar, signalling a calculated move to challenge established regional players in the state. The foray into Bihar marks a continuation of the party’s strategy to expand beyond its traditional bases in Delhi and Punjab, following recent electoral experiments in Gujarat and Goa.
