A Civil Police Officer (CPO) attached to the Vandiperiyar police station in Idukki district of Kerala was on Thursday (June 12, 2025) arrested for allegedly planting a spy camera in the changing room used by women police personnel and capturing visuals. The accused has been identified as Vyshak.
According to sources, Vyshak discreetly installed the spy camera near the women’s changing area within the station premises and recorded visuals. He later sent these visuals to one of the women officers, prompting her to file a complaint with the Kattappana Women’s Cell.
Following the complaint, a case was registered and an investigation was launched. During the preliminary probe, officials found sufficient evidence to arrest the accused.
Complainant allegedly threatened
It was also revealed that Vyshak had allegedly threatened the complainant, stating that he would circulate the footage on social media.
Further examination of Vyshak’s mobile phone has uncovered more visuals of other women officers. Idukki District Police Chief has suspended the accused officer and directed Peermade Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Vishal Johnson to submit a detailed report.
Mr. Johnson confirmed that charges under the IT Act and other relevant sections have been invoked against Vyshak. “The accused will be produced before the court on Thursday,” he said.
