The Kerala government on Monday sanctioned ₹74.34 crore to the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) for the payment of pensions.
The government has sanctioned ₹933.34 crore to the transport utility so far this year, Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal said. This includes ₹350 crore sanctioned as special assistance and ₹583.44 crore meant for the payment of pensions.
The 2025-26 Kerala Budget had earmarked ₹900 crore for the KSRTC.
Over the past nine years, the State government has supported the KSRTC with a financial assistance of ₹12,906 crore, Mr. Balagopal said. This includes ₹5,002 crore sanctioned during the previous Left Democratic Front (LDF) government and ₹7,904 crore given during the current government’s term, the Minister said.
