Sunil, 39, was arrested in Vechoochira, Kerala, for allegedly murdering his mother-in-law, Ushamani, 54, following a family dispute.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his mother-in-law in Vechoochira in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district on Wednesday, following a family dispute linked to his wife’s estrangement. 

The accused has been identified as Sunil. He was taken into custody by the Vechoochira Police for killing Ushamani (54).

Sunil and his wife had been living separately for over four years. He thought Ushamani was the reason for the separation. Sunil, who reached home around noon, got into an argument with Ushamani, which escalated into a fight, and he hit her on the head with a spade. Ushamani died on the spot. The incident happened around 3 pm, Times of India reported.

The police are currently investigating the case and questioning the individual, but he has not made a confession yet.
