THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A major accident was averted when a car allegedly driven by a drunk man rammed into the official vehicle of Kerala Finance Minister K N Balagopal near Vamanapuram, official said on Sunday. The incident took place around 10 pm while the minister was travelling from Kottarakkara to Thiruvananthapuram in his official car. According to police, a car approaching from the opposite direction tried to overtake another vehicle, hit a car ahead, lost control, and crashed into the front portion of the minister’s vehicle.
