Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath refuted reports that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued a notice to his wife regarding the liquor scam. He stated that the notice was addressed to Kesineni Developers, a company in which she was a director in the past. He said that the notice was served to seek an explanation for certain irregularities and was not directed to her in an individual capacity.

The notice pertained to architect fees amounting to ₹35 lakh collected from Ishwani, a firm related to Raj Kesireddy, with which Kesineni Developers was involved in the real estate business. However, Kesineni Developers had since exited the partnership after learning about Raj’s background, he noted.

Addressing media personnel at his office here on Monday (May 25, 2026), Mr. Sivanath stated that reports claiming ED notices were issued to his wife were false. He also mentioned that the company representatives would appear before the ED on Wednesday (May 27) to provide a detailed explanation. Kesineni Developers quit the partnership with Ishwani in 2022 and has had no connection with Ishwani since then, he added.

The impugned transaction was solely for architect fees and there were no other financial transactions, he said, condemning media reports that his wife received ED notices vis-a- vis the liquor scam and insisting that it was a politically motivated campaign.
