KFCC election: nomination of Sandra Thomas accepted

The nomination of film producer Sandra Thomas to the post of secretary in the election to the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) was accepted after the scrutiny held here on Monday.

The nomination of Saji Nanthiyattu, who had filed the nomination for the post of president, was also accepted. Sandra Thomas exuded confidence of having a democratic election scheduled on August 27.

She said that her fight for the progress of cinema industry would continue. She had hit the headlines after her nomination to the post of president in the Kerala Film Producers’ Association was rejected after scrutiny. Though she had contested the election held for the general seat in the executive committee of the association, she could not secure a win. She had polled 110 votes.

Mr. Nanthiyattu said that his nomination was accepted despite attempts by some vested interests to deny him a chance to contest the election democratically.

Sony Thomas will be declared as the general secretary of the new executive committee as there are no other contenders for the post.
