In view of the Deepavali festival and the Hulijanti Shri Malingaraya Jatra, the Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) will operate 600 additional buses to various destinations, including Bengaluru and Hulijanti, to facilitate smooth travel for passengers, said KKRTC Managing Director B. Susheela, in a press release on Wednesday.

She said that special services would operate from district and taluk headquarters across the KKRTC region to Bengaluru and other major cities between October 16 and 18, while return trips from Bengaluru to different destinations would run from October 17 to 19.

For devotees visiting the Hulijanti Shri Malingaraya Jatra, additional services will be available on October 20, 21, and 22. She added that depending on passenger rush, additional buses will also be operated from October 22 to 26 after the festive and holiday period.

Passengers can book their seats in advance through any of the 18 computerised booking counters in Karnataka and neighbouring States. A 5% discount will be offered for group bookings of four or more passengers, and a 10% concession for booking to-and-fro tickets together.

Ms. Susheela advised passengers to check the bus station, pick-up point and schedule printed on their advance tickets before travelling.
