KLETU Vegdooth racing car wins overall second prize in national competition

Vegdooth racing car, designed and developed by a team of 19 students from multiple branches of engineering of KLE Technological University (KLETU), has done exceptionally well at a national-level competition bagging the overall second position.

The team took part in the prestigious SAE Supra 2025 (India), one of India’s leading motorsport engineering competitions, at Buddh International Circuit, Delhi, recently, a release from KLETU said.

The event provided a grand platform for engineering students across India to design, construct and test formula-style race cars. It was a remarkable exhibition of innovation, technical expertise and teamwork on a national stage.

KLETU’s Formula Student team, Vegdooth Racing, comprising 19 students and led by captain Sangamesh Kamagond and vice-captain Sajal Naik, was guided by the faculty members of the mechanical engineering department.

And, at dynamic events, the car team delivered exceptional performance emerging first in endurance and autocross and second in skidpad and acceleration.

Following consistent performance across categories, Vegdooth Racing secured the overall second position at SAE Supra 2025, the release said.
